Twenty one weeks and one day. Another trip to Cincinnati, more ultrasounds and echocardiograms. It's a long day.

Coeur d'Lane weighs 15 ounces! Her fluid level is a bit over 8 but still great.

Lennon is just two ounces behind her big sister at 13 ounces. Her fluid level is a little over 5.

Their wombmate, Emerson, still weighs just 5 ounces but despite her tiny frame she continues to remain strong. However, there are subtle signs that her fight may be getting harder.

Dr. Crombleholme met with Brooke and Chris today. It seems more likely this is placental insufficiency. Emerson's echo shows that there is some negative blood flow which can cause problems with Lennon, like a stroke. He wants her to have another ultrasound on Friday. If the ultrasound shows the condition worsening (which he thinks it will) he is recommending coming back to Cincinnati for surgery on Monday.

It's hard to describe how I feel right now. This is certainly not good news for Emerson but somehow there's a peace just knowing a little more about what's going on. No one has given up on Emerson but it's a fight for Lennon now.

Psalm 139:13-18
13 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
17 How precious to me are your thoughts, God!
How vast is the sum of them!
18 Were I to count them,
they would outnumber the grains of sand—
when I awake, I am still with you.

  1. Praying for those babies every day, around the clock. God has a good plan for each of them! :) Love you!
