Gigi's Journal - June 2, 2012

It's been a busy last couple of weeks.  On May 25 - 28 I went to Guatemala with 9 others and we did a medical missions for women and children.  We saw 108 patients.  Here is a short video of what we did.

When I returned from Guatemala I had surgery on my left foot.  I have had problems with that foot for several years.  I finally got a correct diagnosis with the third podiatrist, Dr. John Anderson.  I had the best helper come to my house.  Oliver is very attentive to my needs and as a reward gets to ride "my new bike" which is a knee walker.  I have to be off the foot for 6 to 8 weeks.

The girls are getting so big.  They had a photo shoot recently.  Here are some of the pics:

Today the sky was blue, and so was I. Sharon Schmidt Twenty two weeks and one day. Chris, Sue, Morgan and I got up early to get breakfast and get to the hospital. Brooke slept well last night, thanks to Dr. "Ambien". Connie, the sonographer, came in to take Brooke to get the ultrasound. As expected, Emerson's heart wasn't beating. As I was reminded today, her spirit and a good friends' recent loss, are playing together on the other side. Coeur d'Lane and Lennon are doing well. They were so busy in there, moving, sucking on their hands - so sweet. Their heart rates are in a good range and their fluid levels remain in a good range. The average delivery occurs about 10 weeks after this procedure. We want Coeur d'Lane and Lennon to get big and stay in as long as possible! We won't have to worry about Emerson now. We focus our attention on the future. Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow; it empties today of its strength. Corrie Ten Boom

It's 4:15 AM and we just got back from the hospital. Zoe is snuggled up between Ray and I. Ray is already sleeping, loudly :-) I have to post a couple of pics of the girls before I go to sleep. Day 6 of 30 Things I Want my Children and Grandchildren to Know About Me If you could have three wishes, what would you wish for? I first have to say that this question was not worded correctly.  Any of us has the ability to wish or hope for anything we want.   I believe the author of the list meant to say - If you could have three wishes granted ...  So, I will answer the question as if I found a genie in a bottle and he granted me three wishes.  I bet you're wishing I didn't go into all of this detail about the question! Wish #1 - Anyone who knows me knows this has to be at the top of the list!  I wish my family (children, grandchildren, parents and siblings) lived on a mountaintop in Tennessee.  A self-sufficient family commune.  Far enough from each other to enjoy alone time but close enough to be there in a flash. Wish #2 - I wish I could give wish #3 to someone who would wish for something more valuable for mankind.  Not the stereot...
